Twitter, a globally recognized brand, is undergoing a rebranding as "X" under Elon Musk's ownership, marking a significant change. As part of the rebranding process, the company attempted to remove the Twitter sign from its headquarters in San Francisco. However, the police intervened and halted the sign removal, initially citing a possible lack of permit for the crane used in the process. Later, the police clarified that it was a misunderstanding, and no crime was committed.

The removal of the sign caused some confusion among passersby, and big letters, including the white "W," were left on the ground. Elon Musk claimed the "W" was at the center of a dispute with the landlord, potentially related to unpaid rent.

Contrary to Musk's suggestion of using blowtorches, it appears that an impact driver from Ridgid, a brand sold by The Home Depot, was used for the sign removal.
The situation surrounding Twitter's rebranding and sign removal is still unfolding, and further updates may come as the story continues to evolve under Elon Musk's ownership.
